Mission

New York Digital is building AI for good. We think it can be done. You can follow our progress at Goodable.dev . Here we talk. There we build.

We are also advancing our founding principles as a matter of public policy and because we think its good business. You can read about that here: A Digital Bill of Rights

So, if you have a deep respect for the craft of problem-solving, the art of critical thinking, like cool design stuff, are a policy nerd, or just want to keep up with the latest in AI, legislation, and public policy; join us. You're more than half-way in at this point.

Vision

We believe public infrastructure, digital or otherwise, belongs to the public. That civic technology deserves the same excellence as commercial technology. We believe it's time for a second internet. We are not alone in this thinking. We insist, however, that it serve the common good. On this point we are early.

Everything we ship, support, and salute (🫡) reflects 3 genuine beliefs: digital systems, AI or not, must be empowering, not extractive; good design triggers no cortisol, no dopamine; and design for engagement is toxic, design for intention is better. These are not moral imperatives (they are); they are functional imperatives, non-negotiable requirements for an AI-accompanied future. On this we do not engage. You see it, or you don't.

It's simple really. What comes next needs to be different if it is to be sustainable. So, part of our vision is to empower you to think different, again.
