Senate
The Senate Internet and Technology Committee focuses on legislation and policy regarding digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, broadband access, data privacy, emerging technologies, and internet governance. Its work advances technological innovation, protects consumer data, and improves technology access and equity statewide.
Its authority covers General Business Law (technology and data privacy), Education Law (technology access in schools), and relevant sections of Public Service Law (telecommunications) and State Technology Law.
Senator Kristen Gonzalez is Chair, with Senator Dan Stec as Ranking Member. Membership is usually about 7–9 senators; the committee meets throughout session weeks, with roster and schedule posted on the Senate’s website.
