This committee is tasked with ensuring accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct in state government. It reviews, investigates, and oversees the effectiveness of laws, state agencies, and public authorities, conducts hearings and investigations into potential waste or abuse, and works to strengthen the integrity of public service in New York.
It has broad jurisdiction, primarily grounded in Legislative Law (oversight authority and investigations), State Finance Law (agency accountability), and Executive Law (agency operations and compliance).
